Requirements to Begin Huntington City Utilities Service

  • Complete the "Turn On" form (all highlighted areas). Signature required.
  • Provide a copy of your driver's license or photo ID (may be emailed).
  • $125 deposit for residential accounts with 1" or smaller meters.
  • $200 deposit for commercial/industrial accounts with 2" or larger meters.
    • Deposit can be paid by check, cash, money order (dropbox), or credit card (by phone).

Return Options

  • Use the electronic DocuSign form.
  • Drop off in the 24-hour dropbox at City Building, 300 Cherry St. (inside the blue door). Envelopes are provided.

Please allow 2–3 business days for processing. A representative will call to verify and potentially schedule a service activation. Someone age 18 or older with interior access must be present if a service visit is scheduled. Inform the technician of any leak so they can shut off the water if needed.


Requirements to Discontinue Huntington City Utilities Service

  • Complete the "Turn Off" form (all highlighted areas). Signature required.
  • Include a forwarding address for the final bill.
    • Billing is done one month in arrears. A final bill will be sent after service ends.
    • Consumer deposit (if applicable) will be refunded via paper check to the provided address.

Requirements to Transfer Utility Service

  • Complete both "Turn On" and "Turn Off" forms.
  • All balances must be paid in full at time of transfer.
  • Existing deposits can transfer if the new service begins within two weeks.
    • Transfers taking longer than two weeks may require a new deposit.
    • A final bill will be issued for the old address due to delayed billing.
