Huntington Water Department's Lead and Copper Rule Update

We want you to be informed about an essential program happening in Huntington and communities across the country. Your local water utility is currently developing a Service Line Inventory in accordance with the EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule (LCR). We’re excited to share some key details with you to keep you informed about this initiative.

Why the Service Line Inventory?

The Service Line Inventory is a federal requirement aimed at improving the safety and reliability of our nation’s water infrastructure. Huntington's participation shows our commitment to high standards in water quality and compliance with national regulations.

No Current Water Quality Issues

This program is not related to any water quality deficiencies. We are committed to delivering safe drinking water to our community. This initiative is a proactive measure to understand the materials used in service lines throughout the city.

Please see the Consumer Confidence Report for the latest City of Huntington water quality results.

Funding and Financial Impact

We are pleased to share that funding has been secured for the Service Line Inventory project. There will be no impact on your utility bill as a result of this initiative.

What to Expect

In the coming weeks, you may see our teams conducting surveys and assessments in your neighborhood. This is part of the effort to accurately identify and document the materials used in water service lines.

Your Cooperation Matters

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to complete this federally mandated project. Your participation helps ensure the success of the program and supports the overall health of our community.

We invite you to complete a brief Self-Reporting Survey to share information about the material of your service line, from where it enters your home or business to your interior main shut-off valve.
