About the Arboretum

More than 40 species of trees native to Indiana can be found in the Evergreen Park Arboretum, which was planted from April 28-30, 2022. Click the image above for an interactive map with links to educational resources and descriptions of the Evergreen Park tree collection.

As the trees grow and develop, the Huntington Parks & Recreation Department plans to add additional walking trails, an outdoor event space and more. We will also apply for designated arboretum status, making the Evergreen Park Arboretum a unique offering in northeast Indiana.

Educational signage to learn about the tree species and their historical connection to our area is being created to help visitors to the arboretum gain a deeper understanding and appreciation.

The Arboretum would not have been possible without contributions from the Huntington Parks & Rec team, members of the Mayor's Advisory Council on Environmental Stewardship and our community volunteers.
