Huntington County Community Corrections Department has an opening for a Full Time Residential Living Supervisor for the Restorative Residential Work Release/Community Corrections

This position is responsible for the supervision and management of the daily operations of the Restorative Residential Work Release program.

A successful candidate will have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience in psychology, criminal justice, or social work; prior case management and supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience in finance management or business administration preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to empower program participants to make life-changing decisions by providing appropriate and specific evaluation, analysis and problem-solving techniques.

A successful candidate must have the ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of department information and records according to state requirements, as well as work with a diverse group of people.

The current maximum annual salary for this position is up to $56,650 annually, DOQ/E. Individual must be flexible to work hours outside of business hours (8a-4:30p M-F) and possibly weekends.

Huntington County Public Safety Dispatch has openings for Full Time and Part Time Dispatchers

This position is responsible for answering 9-1-1, administrative phone calls and dispatching appropriate emergency personnel. In addition, it is also responsible for maintaining warrant files, protection orders and other paperwork. Candidates must be willing to attend mandatory training courses. 

Successful candidates must also possess excellent communication and computer skills, along with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a high stress environment. Must be 21 years old, and have a HS Diploma/GED. Hourly rate is up to $22.20.  EOE

Huntington County Community Corrections Department has Openings for Part Time Pretrial Navigators

 Successful candidates for these roles will be responsible for assisting the Pre-Trial team with monitoring offender compliance in programs or special conditions ordered by the court. The Pretrial Navigator will collaborate with various intercepts of the judicial system such as the jail, courts, community corrections, and probation to offer transition resource services to offenders, while also aiding these intercepts with crisis intervention, bond release, and initial detention.

Successful candidates will hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in case management.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to efficiently process information and utilize problem-solving skills are required. In addition, time management skills are essential. Successful candidates must have the ability to make practical application of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as well as work with a diverse group of people.

Pay is up to $20.16 per hour, DOQ/E. Individual must be flexible to work hours outside of business hours (8a-4:30p M-F) and possibly weekends.

Huntington County Community Corrections Department has an opening for a Full Time Release Specialist


The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the daily supervision of participants of the Pre-Trial and Community Correction programs utilizing prescribed policies and procedures, while ensuring a secure, safe, and humane environment for individuals in pretrial or post-conviction supervision program status using evidence-based practices.

Experience in criminal justice, social work, or counseling is preferred and a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with the public and participants in a courteous and tactful manner including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.

The Huntington County Community Corrections Department has Openings for Part Time Court Support Staff


Responsibilities include conducting supervised, observed urine or oral drug screens, and conducting screenings to assist with determination of indigent status as requested through the court of individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Successful candidates must have the ability to maintain detailed and accurate records of offenders that are involved with the criminal justice system in either pre or post-conviction status. Successful candidates will also be responsible for closely monitoring and detecting any potential device or substance used to interfere with the drug test during the collection of the sample; completes the necessary documents and Court affidavits, notifies the supervising officer, and follows internal policy/procedure.

Hours vary- up to 20 hours per week, with the ability to be present on specified court days.
HS Diploma/GED Required. Pay is up to $19.00 per hour based on experience.

The Huntington County Sheriff’s Office is Currently Recruiting for Additional Full Time and Part Time Jail Staff to Work a Variety of Shifts. 

  • Full and Part Time Jail Officers max pay $22.57

There is a five (5) day jail school training that is required and provided, along with a specific number of hours of training on-the-job.

These positions are responsible for maintaining control and ensuring safety of facility staff and inmates. These positions are also responsible for maintaining the security of the facility, handling booking and bonding procedures, and handing facility rule/regulation compliance. In addition to the previous outlined duties, transport officers are also responsible for the secure and safe transportation, guarding, and escorting of inmates from specified sites to designated locations. 

Candidates will be trained in First Aid/CPR, AED and Defensive Tactics.  In addition, a successful candidate must also possess excellent communication and computer skills, along with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Successful candidates must be open to work evenings, weekends and nights.  Must be 18 years old, and have a HS Diploma/GED.

A successful candidate will have successfully completed a High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in the area of criminal justice, social work, or counseling.
