Assessors Office: Deputy Assessor

Responsibilities include answering phones, greeting visitors, preparing and entering various information into the computer system such as parcel transfers, parcel splits, parcel combinations, and sales data; then filing the documents appropriately. Additional duties include performing field inspections of property, documenting changes, and updating property values for real estate, personal property & mobile home properties in addition to other duties within the Assessor’s Office as assigned. Ability to attain level certification and continue required education to retain this certification.

Successful candidates must have excellent communication, organization and computer skills. Previous experience with property assessments is preferred. The ability to work on a variety of tasks, understand rules of confidentiality and public information, as well as be comfortable working with the public are required. Hours are from 8:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Fridays. The pay rate for this position is up to $21.90 hourly.

Highway Department-Mechanic

Responsibilities include performing a variety of maintenance, diagnostic, and repair duties including repairs to electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems. The mechanic also performs welding and fabrication to trucks and truck beds, including cutting truck beds, re-welding, cutting and removing frames, and fabricating fuel tanks, hydraulic tanks, and hitches for trucks.

Must have a high school diploma or GED, and hold at least a class B CDL. Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance. Ability to effectively communicate in a courteous and tactful manner with co-workers, foremen, truck drivers, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities. This position requires the ability to prioritize critical repairs and maintenance and work in an effective manner.

Work hours are 7:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Must be open to working extended hours, evenings, and weekends as needed. Hourly pay rate is up to $27.81 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Highway Department-Equipment Operator II

This position is responsible for operating various vehicles and equipment in clearing and maintaining County roads, ditches, and rights-of-way, including dump truck, bucket truck, asphalt paver, front-end loader, excavator, crane, backhoe, snow plow, stone chipper, compaction roller, skid loader, grader and jack hammer.

Candidates must have a valid CDL driver’s license. In addition, a successful candidate must also have working knowledge of and skill in operation of using a variety of trucks and equipment, with ability to affix and properly use all attachments.    Candidate must be available to serve on 24-hour call and respond to emergencies from off-duty status. Must be 18 years old, and have a HS Diploma/GED. Hourly rate is up $26.25 based on experience.

Community Corrections Department-Full Time and Part Time Living Unit Coordinator

This position is responsible for the daily supervision of participants of the work release program utilizing prescribed policies and procedures, ensures a secure, safe and humane environment for individuals serving executed sentences through the use of evidence based practices.

A successful candidate will have successfully completed a High School Diploma or GED and experience in the area of criminal justice, social work, or counseling.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to empower program participants to make life-changing decisions by providing appropriate and specific evaluation, analysis and problem-solving techniques.

A successful candidate must have the ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of department information and records according to state requirements, as well as work with a diverse group of people.

The hourly rate for this position is up to $19.81 per hour, based on experience. This position requires flexibility as needed outside of business hours and possibly weekends.
