The Huntington County Commissioners have recently received comments from the public about the timing of the traffic lights at the intersections of US 24 and Jefferson Street, as well as, State Road 9 and County Road 200 N.  As the Highway Superintendent, I reached out to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) to inquire about the timing of the lights.

INDOT responded and reacted in a timely manner to monitor the timing of the lights. They stated in regards to SR 9 & CR 200 N, the signal has some loop detector malfunctions. The signal is not functioning optimally at present.  INDOT is working on a solution.

Regarding US 24 & SR 5, INDOT made some modifications to the signal timings at this location and believes the delays should be reduced. They stated that they welcome feedback from the public.

The Huntington County Commissioners shared their appreciation to INDOT for their timely response in addressing the situations with the lights.
