2020 Census - Lead to Redistricting Huntington County Council Districts

The Indiana Legislature has mandated under the terms of IC 36-2-3-4 that the County Executive shall divide the county into four (4) County Council Districts that are composed of contiguous territory and are reasonable compact; and that mandate further provides that the district boundaries drawn by the County Executive must not cross precinct boundary lines and must divide townships only when a division is clearly necessary to accomplish redistricting under said section and districts must contain, as nearly as possible, equal population; and the Board of Commissioners of the County of Huntington is satisfied that said study is accurate and is in compliance with the legislation.  Huntington County has four (4) County Council Districts with a population deviation of 4.25%.

Huntington County Commissioners sign Ordinance No. 2021-31 on October 11, 2021.
