Huntington City Landfill Closure

The Huntington City Landfill permanently closed in March 2019 and no longer accepts solid waste, construction debris, concrete, or similar materials. The landfill had served the Huntington community since 1970.

Solid Waste & Hazardous Waste

Huntington County operates the Solid Waste District, which remains open for business at the former landfill site. The district provides disposal services for hazardous waste, used electronics, unused pharmaceuticals, and more. For information, call (260) 358-4886.

Brush, Grass Clippings, and Leaves Disposal

Brush, grass clippings, and leaves are accepted from Huntington County residents only, on Tuesdays from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Acceptance and disposal fees may change. For questions, call (260) 356-0432.

Yard Waste Management

The City Services department offers a brown bag pickup program for grass clippings, hedge trimmings, leaves, and small branches. To schedule a pickup, call (260) 356-4720 and follow the prompts.

Orange Sticker Program – Large Item Pickup

Orange Stickers for large item pickup are available for purchase at:
