20210908 Library Card Signup Month

HUNTINGTON – The Huntington City-Township Public Library’s goal during Library Card Signup Month is a simple one.

“Our goal is to get as many people to sign up for their library card as possible,” Devon Henderson, HCTPL communications specialist said.

All residents of Huntington and Huntington Township are eligible for a library card, which brings free access to books, movies, music, games, online tools, community resources, educational programs, family-friendly events and more at the Huntington and Markle branches.

HCTPL also provides free library cards to all Huntington County Community School Corporation students, faculty and administrators, regardless of where they live, and to all Huntington University students living on-campus or off-campus within the library’s service area.

“We are also excited for the support of several local businesses, who will give discounts all month to those who show their library card when making a purchase,” Henderson said.

HCTPL joins all other Huntington County libraries in celebrating Library Card Signup Month, a national drive sponsored by the American Library Association each September. Mayor Richard Strick issued a proclamation Wednesday morning declaring September as Library Card Signup Month in Huntington.

HCTPL’s main branch is located at 255 W. Park Drive in Huntington. The Markle branch is located at 155 W. Sparks St. in Markle.
