Walk-in COVID-19 testing site open until January 9

HUNTINGTON – The Indiana State Department of Health and the Huntington County Health Department are partnering to hold a free walk-in clinic for COVID-19 testing.

The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, to Saturday, January 9, at Schenkel Station, 11. W. State St. in Huntington.

Testing will be available to all members of the public regardless of symptoms. Children as young as 2 years of age can be tested with parental consent.

Hoosiers will not be charged for testing and insurance is not required. If you have private health insurance, please bring that information with you.

Huntington County Health Officer Dr. Thomas Ringenberg said it is important to be tested for COVID-19 if you have a fever, sinus pain, loss of smell or taste, a sore throat and especially if you are having a breathing difficulty.

He added that early detection is critical to start early treatment of this viral syndrome for best recovery.
