COVID-19 Precautions Urged When Celebrating 4th of July

HUNTINGTON – An Independence Day fireworks show set for the Fourth of July will go on this year in Huntington as planned.

Volunteers from the local American Legion Post 7 receive the necessary training to put on Huntington’s Fourth of July fireworks show each year. The group plans to launch the display at dark, around 10 p.m., on July 4 from the Huntington North High School campus.

The display is visible from a number of locations across the Huntington area. Wherever residents choose to watch from, public health officials suggest following the guidance below due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Do not host or attend gatherings of large groups of people or share food or beverage items.
  • Stay at least six feet from other people with whom you are not in regular contact.
  • Wear a mask that covers your face and nose if you are in any public place around others.
  • Stay home if you are ill or at higher risk of COVID-19 complications.

City officials encourage all residents to heed to advice of public health officials while enjoying this year’s Fourth of July celebrations.
