Tree Removal to Begin Along Section of Tipton St. Before Construction
To prep the area for construction related to the separation of the City’s combined sewer system, it is unfortunately necessary to remove the street trees between the road and sidewalk along Tipton Street from Lafontaine Street to Division Street. We share your sadness!
In addition to street and sidewalk improvements, new trees are scheduled to be replanted on at least a 1:1 basis as near to the original location as possible after construction. However, some positions may ultimately change due to utility locations. Alongside considerations about being good environmental stewards, the sewer separation project also is driven by federal and state pollution control requirements.
