HUNTINGTON – The Huntington Police Department has welcomed two new patrolmen to city’s public safety team.

Patrolmen David Layman and Tyler Snodderly took the Oath of Office and were sworn into service during a Wednesday morning ceremony at the Huntington City Building. Both are Huntington County natives.

Layman is a lateral transfer from the Madison County (Ind.) Sheriff’s Department, where he had served for more than three years. He is a 2019 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He double-majored in criminal justice and national security at Anderson University.

Snodderly joins HPD after completing degrees in computer information systems and finance at Indiana Wesleyan University. Before graduating in 2019, he also completed an internship with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He will enroll in the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy to begin training and instruction this coming summer.

Snodderly follows his father, Scott, who served in both the U.S. military and with the Indiana State Police, into a career in public service.
