On February 19, 2026, the Board of Commissioners of Huntington County, Indiana, received from the Huntington County Plan Commission the certification to consider and approve a text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) to place a moratorium on Data Centers, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Carbon Sequestration projects. On February 18, 2026, the proposed text amendment received a Favorable Recommendation from the Huntington County Plan Commission, by a vote of 8-1. The Huntington County Board of Commissioners intends to consider the following Ordinance Number during a meeting at the date, time, and place referenced above:

Ordinance #2026-04 Docket PC-26-001: Application filed by the Huntington County Plan Commission requesting a Text Amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) for Huntington County to place a moratorium on Data Centers, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Carbon Sequestration projects in Huntington County, Indiana.
