Following the annual Veterans Day Parade, community members gathered on November 8 at Memorial Park in Huntington to honor and thank veterans. Speakers included Huntington Mayor Richard Strick, Huntington County Veterans Service Officer Tim Eckert, Huntington County Commissioner Rob Miller and Steve Justus, representing the office of veteran and U.S. Senator Jim Banks.
The Erie Band played patriotic music throughout the ceremony, with members of VFW Post 2689 performing Taps and a three volley salute. Also participating in the parade and ceremony were Huntington North High School's Color Guard, JROTC and Viking Marching Band. Thank you for helping us honor all local veterans.
