Notice of Consideration of Proposed Ordinance Number #2026-01

On February 19, 2026, the Town of Markle, Indiana, received from the Markle Plan Commission, the certification to consider and approve a text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance (“UDO”) for the Town of Markle to place a moratorium on Data Centers, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Carbon Sequestration projects. On February 18, 2026, the proposed text amendment received a Favorable Recommendation from the Markle Plan Commission by a vote of 8-1. The Markle Town Council intends to consider the following Ordinance Number during a meeting at the date, time, and place referenced above:
Ordinance #2026-01 - Docket MPC-26-001: Application filed by the Markle Plan Commission requesting a text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) to place a moratorium on Data Centers, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Carbon Sequestration projects within the Town of Markle, Indiana.
