The Huntington Fire Department will do its part by teaming up with Kroger this Saturday for a Firefighters Fighting Hunger food drive. Local firefighters will be at the Huntington Kroger location from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. September 13 to accept non-perishable donations.

Plans are in place for a new station at 1005 Flaxmill Road to replace the outdated and overcrowded Condit Street station. A second reading and final vote at the August 26 City Council meeting will determine whether the project proceeds.

Indiana Gov. Mike Braun held a ceremonial signing of Senate Enrolled Act (SEA) 306 at Huntington University on Thursday, July 17. SEA 306 is now in effect in Indiana, benefitting Hoosier creatives in the film and media industry. The bill was authored by State Senators Andy Zay, Travis Holdman and Kyle Walker.
