The City of Huntington encourages local households to check their eligibility for the Indiana Energy Saver Program (IESP).
The statewide program launched this May with the support of $182 million in federal funding. IESP aims to provide Indiana families with utility bill savings, enhance home comfort and bolster energy efficiency throughout the state.
Applications can be submitted through the program’s online portal to begin the eligibility review process. Those eligible will receive a no-cost home energy audit to identify potential improvements.
The program’s support is focused on assisting low and moderate-income households. Households earning less than 150 percent of the Area Median Income may qualify.
IESP will provide cost savings in the form of an upfront discount on eligible products installed by qualified contractors. Potential improvements could include air sealing, insulation, and equipment replacements such as space heating and cooling systems and water heaters.
“This investment of federal tax dollars in your home could help your family’s budget in a real and lasting way,” Huntington Mayor Richard Strick said.
