Frontline Worker Appreciation Month
WHEREAS, frontline workers are vital to the well-being and progress of Huntington, contributing to the safety, health, and education of our community with compassion, courage, creativity, and dedication; and
WHEREAS, healthcare professionals, emergency responders, educators, and public safety personnel in Huntington and across the nation serve tirelessly — often in high-stress and high-risk environments — to care for others, uphold the law, respond to emergencies, and educate our youth; and
WHEREAS, these individuals consistently go above and beyond in their service, often sacrificing personal comfort and safety to ensure the needs of others are met; and
WHEREAS, our frontline workers represent the spirit of Huntington’s community — resilient, service-oriented, and committed to building a stronger, more united city for all; and
WHEREAS, their efforts deserve recognition and gratitude, as they embody the values of integrity, perseverance, and humanity that strengthen the foundation of our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Richard Strick, Mayor of Huntington, Indiana, hereby proclaim the month of May as FRONTLINE WORKER APPRECIATION MONTH in the City of Huntington and encourage all residents to express their appreciation for the essential contributions of our healthcare workers, first responders, educators, and all those who serve on the front lines.
Each year, the first Thursday of May is celebrated as a National Day of Prayer.
It was our honor to be invited by local residents to their gatherings yesterday and pray alongside them for the future of our community.
