Huntington County Community Corrections Department has an opening for a full time Pretrial Program Coordinator.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring screened individuals for placement in pretrial programs and prepare written summary for the Court prior to the Initial Hearings. This position maintains accurate case files, interviews and investigates potential participants, classifies participants according to risk based on IRAS results, and records the participants behavior and compliance with court orders.

A successful candidate will hold a Baccalaureate Degree Social or Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to efficiently process information and utilize problem-solving skills are also required.  In addition, time management skills are essential.  A successful candidate must have the ability to meet deadlines, as well as work with a diverse group of people.

Salary range is $40,000 - $43,199.00 year DOQ/E.  Individual must be flexible to work hours outside of business hours (8a-4:30p M-F) and possibly weekends.

Huntington County Public Safety Dispatch has openings for Part Time Dispatchers

 This position is responsible for answering 9-1-1, administrative phone calls and dispatching appropriate emergency personnel. In addition, it is also responsible for maintaining warrant files, protection orders and other paperwork. Candidates must be willing to attend mandatory training courses.

 A successful candidate must also possess excellent communication and computer skills, along with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a high stress environment. Candidate must be open to work hours and days of the week, and will be scheduled only as needed, no minimum hours guaranteed. Must be 21 years old, and have a HS Diploma/GED. Hourly rate is $11.00/hour with an additional $3.25/hour after specific certifications are obtained.

The Huntington County Sheriff’s Department Jail is currently recruiting for additional Jail Officers (PART TIME)

May be required to work a variety of different shifts, mostly evenings and weekends.  These positions may have some scheduled shifts, and may be called for short-notice fill-in shifts.  There are no specific number of minimum hours per month; preference given to employees who work at least one shift a month after training period.

There is a five (5) day training required, along with a specific number of hours training on-the-job. Please only serious applicants should apply. Full time vacancies are generally filled from part time employee pool.

This position is responsible for maintaining control and ensuring safety of facility staff and inmates. Position is also responsible for maintaining security of facility, handling booking and bonding procedures, and handing facility rule/regulation compliance.  

Candidates will be trained in First Aid/CPR, AED and Defensive Tactics. In addition, a successful candidate must also possess excellent communication and computer skills, along with the ability to work with minimal supervision.   Candidate must be open to work hours and days of the week. Must be 21 years old, and have a HS Diploma/GED.

Pay is up to $14.13 / hour depending on experience.
