Recycling

The Huntington Landfill also offers recycling. Items accepted include plastics #1-5, metals, glass and paper. Recycling is accepted at the Huntington Landfill and across Memorial Park, behind the park shop on West Park Drive. Read the recycling guidelines  below to find out more information on the acceptable items.

Materials Accepted:
 
Plastic:  #1 through #5 Plastic bottles, jugs and containers
 
Glass: Only clear, brown and green food and beverage glass bottles and jars.
 
Paper:  Newspapers, magazines, junk mail, soap and cereal boxes, catalogs, phone books, school and office papers, other cardboard boxes, paper grocery sacks.
 
Metal:  Aluminum beverage cans, steel (tin) food cans, empty aerosol cans, empty and dry paint cans.
 
Materials may be taken to the following locations:
 
City Landfill, 515 S 300 W, Huntington
Midwest Metal Fabrication, 3050 W. Park Dr., Huntington
 
City Street Department, 384 North Briant Street, Huntington.  Materials accepted at this site from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday.  NO MATERIALS ARE ALLOWED TO BE LEFT OUTSIDE THE GATES, AFTER HOURS OR ON WEEKENDS.
