Pharmaceutical Waste

The Huntington County Solid Waste District offers a number of convenient alternatives for residents to dispose of pharmaceutical waste such as unwanted or expired medicines.  Huntington County residents can take pharmaceutical waste to the Huntington County Sheriff's Department drop box 24/7 (in lobby of the Huntington County Jail), or materials may also be taken to the Huntington City Building during normal office hours Monday through Friday as well.  The drop-off in the City Building is in the green container outside the detective's office on the 1st floor.  Drop-off boxes are also located in the town hall or town marshal's office in Roanoke, Markle, Warren, and Andrews as well, and they are accessible during normal town business hours.
All materials collected at these sites will be sent to an EPA registered waste incinerator, which is the preferred method of disposal for pharmaceutical waste.
